Fall Maintenance Checklist
Raking the Leaves: The leaves are starting to change colour and isn't it just beautiful to see. It is not simply just lawn tidiness but lawn health if you choose to let the leave sit on your lawn. Leaves can deprive your lawn from sunlight and casts a shadow on the grass. By choosing a light weight rake and gloves to protect your hands and then scoop the leaves into a bag it will make the job a little easier.
Stock up on winter supplies: Be prepared and stock up on emergency kits for your car and home. Grab some bags of safety salt to ensure you are prepared for the icy walkways and driveways that can occur. Schedule a furnace check. Check the conditions of your shovels and ice scrapers. By being ahead of the game you won't have to worry much when this cold time of year comes around.
Indoor Tasks: Indoors there are many tasks that can be completed. Here are some of the things that can be donefor fall cleaning: cleaning behind the fridge, washing and wiping down blinds, removing window a/c units, testing smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, checking your windows and doors for weather tightness and applying weather stripping where needed. Wash outside windows and do a general clean up and rid your home of accumulations of old newspapers and keep a clear space around heaters, furnaces and other heat producing appliances.
