With only six weeks left until Christmas, many are already beginning to get into the holiday spirit. Whether you're looking to get an early start to your Christmas list or searching for the perfect activity for the family, Simcoe County has a lot to offer this Holiday Season!

Victorian Christmas Show

When: November 12th from 10:00am-4:00pm
Where: Midland North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre

Come Christmas shopping at a unique gift show and enjoy the ambiance, appetizers, music, Christmas decorations and great selection of quality hand-made gifts. No two artisan's wares are the same and their creations include pottery, fine arts, blown glass, home decor, garden artistry, jewellery and so much more. This show is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit....even Santa loves to shop here.

Girls Holiday Event

When: November 18th-19th
Where: Downtown Midland

The Annual Girls Holiday Event is a two-day event featuring a movie night, downtown shopping with a variety of event-exclusive discounts, a dinner at Lot 102 and more! Various packages with different combinations of outings are offered for purchase to create a girls weekend that suits your liking. There will also be draws for a number of prizes, all donated from Downtown Midland businesses.

Candy Cane Bazaar

When: November 19th from 9:00am-2:00pm
Where: Royal Canadian Legion

Browse local vendors including Arbonne, Thirty-One, Scentsy, Regal Gifts, Mom's Making Soap, Dar's Pin's & Things, Midland Lion's Club and R.C.S.C.C. Trillium Sea Cadets Silent Auction and many more for unique holidays gifts, raffle draws and baked goods for sale and lunch will be available! Bring your camera to take photos with Santa! Brought to you by the Ladies Auxiliary.

Artists’ Takeover

When: November 19th from 10:00am-4:00pm
Where: Huronia Museum

Huronia Museum will be taken over by artists!  There will be 17 vendors, including crafters, sculptors, painters, bakers and much, much more.  They will be set up all around the museum, so take the opportunity to check out the new exhibits while you shop.  Best of all, the admission to this event is FREE!

Tree Lighting Extravaganza!

When: November 23rd from 5:00pm-8:00pm
Where: Neezhoday Park

We invite you to experience a magical evening of festive fun as we come together to kick off the winter season. Help light the municipal tree and explore downtown merchants, artisans, music, food, and more!

First Light

When: November 24-26, December 1-3 & 8-10 from 5:30pm-9:00pm
Where: Sainte Marie Among the Hurons

Now in its 17th year, Sainte-Marie’s “First Light” is a must-see event with a great line-up of family activities and performers, all amidst the spectacular glow of over 5,000 candles. The cookhouse is filled with the sights and smells of delicious baked goods and cookie samples available for tasting. Historic blacksmithing will also be demonstrated, and a Nativity crèche will be on display in the stables near the Farmer’s Dwelling.A variety of crafts and historic demonstrations will be available, as well as an abundance of music from local artists and choirs. Many vendors will be involved in the event, selling early Christmas must-haves.

Civitan’s Santa Claus Parade

When: November 26th
Where: Downtown Midland

The Midland Civitan Club presents the 39th Annual Midland Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, November 26th. The parade will be happening at 11am and will commence from Little Lake Park down to the bottom of King Street. The theme of this year’s parade is 'Memories of a Childhood Christmas'.

Senior Council Christmas Craft Sale

When: December 3rd
Where: Penetang Memorial Community Centre

Join the Penetanguishene Senior Council at their annual Christmas Craft Sale at the Penetanguishene Memorial Community Centre! There will be a variety of vendors selling everything from baked good to stocking stuffers to help get a head start on that Christmas list!

A Day in the Life with Santa Claus 

When: December 3rd at 10:30am
Where: Midland Cultural Centre

Many of the guests on A Day in the Life have been well loved personalities.  But never have we hosted anyone who is so universally adored as this very special guest.  He’s known as Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, Santy, or simply Santa.  And he’s coming to the MCC.  Host Fred Hacker will have an intimate conversation with Santa.  We’ll learn all about Santa’s elves, his reindeer, Mrs. Claus, his North Pole workshop, Santa’s preparations for Christmas Eve and how it’s possible for him to visit so many boys and girls.  Kids can ask Santa questions.  And admission is free, thanks to the sponsorship of Midland Rotary Club.

Santa Claus Parade and Festival of Lights

When: December 3rd 
Where: Main St/Town Dock


Come out to the 3rd Annual Santa Claus Parade in partnership with the Penetanguishene Lions Club. This year's theme is "A Beary Merry Christmas", so dig out your teddy bears and dress up your parade entry with a Teddy Bear Christmas theme! Parade will start at 4:00 pm on Main Street, from Jeffery Street to the Town Dock.

After the parade, join us at the Town Dock for some Christmas Carols and the lighting of the Town's Christmas Tree at 5:30 pm.  After the tree lighting, walk over to the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum for light refreshments, a visit with Santa, Christmas Crafts, live music and Christmas Cheer!!

These events are free and any donation to the Museum is appreciated!

Jingle Bell Skate

When: December 9th at 6:00pm
Where: Penetang Memorial Community Centre

Come and join the annual Jingle Bell Skate at the Penetanguishene Memorial Community Centre! Please bring a donation for the local food bank. Visit with Santa Claus, Glitter Face/Body Paint for kids, Christmas music and a coupon for concession snacks.

Breakfast with Santa

When: December 10th & 11th from 8:30am-11:30am
Where: Penetanguishene Centennial

Sit down to a scrumptious breakfast of waffles with various topping choices, sausages, orange juice & coffee/tea. In addition visit with Santa, participate in a holiday themed treasure hunt for a small prize and make a craft to take home. $6.00 per person, reservations available.

Where: Various Homes Throughout Midland

It's the 6th Annual Christmas Home Tour, presented by the Midland Heritage Committee. Join us on a magical tour of Christmas past in beautifully decorated homes. Bring your slippers and your Christmas spirit! Good Lovelies Christmas Concert

When: December 15th
Where: Midland Cultural Centre at 7:30pm

This Christmas, Good Lovelies celebrate a decade of music and camaraderie with a very special Tenth Anniversary Christmas Tour. The trio will mark this band milestone in the way it all began, with classic holiday and winter selections of timeless and original material polished to a warm and welcoming glow. Doors open at 7:30pm and the show begins at 8:00pm.
